If the cost of colored film is $2.75 per sq/ft & back-up film (silver / white / smoke) is $1.75 per sq/ft & you are installing a 4 ft x 5 ft two-layered graphic, then the final price will be $2.75 + $1.75 = $4.50 per sq/ft times the square footage of the graphic (20 sq/ft). The cost of materials to make this graphic is $4.50 x 20 sq/ft = $90. Using the pricing rule at 4 x the cost of materials, the retail price to the store owner would be $90 x 4 = $360. If the design took a little more time than expected & you feel you want to charge more, then charge 5 x the cost of materials ($90 x 5 = $450). You figure your own retail pricing / comfort range.

Smoke outline 4 ft x 5 ft = 20 sq/ft x $1.75 sq/ft = $35.00
Red approx. 7 sq/ft x $2.75 sq/ft = $19.25
White back-up 4 ft x 5 ft = 20 sq/ft x $2.75 sq/ft = $35.00
Total cost of materials = $89.25
Retail Price for graphic = $89.25 x 5 (factor) = $446.25 (The dealer who sold this graphic got $450 for it, which is a little more than 5 x the cost of materials.)

Most colored films are 4 feet wide & most back-up films are 5 feet wide. The cost of colored & reflective films decreases as the volume you purchase increases. The $2.75 per square foot is for purchases less than 8 linear feet. (All available discounts will show in the shopping cart as you shop.)
